The Best Western South Beach is a collection of small, historical, art-deco hotels built between the 1930s and 1950s. After a thorough renovation, they were collectively re-opened in 2002 under the nationally known Best Western banner. The affordable hotel is only blocks from the beach and just steps from popular nightclubs, restaurants, bars and trendy shops synonymous with Miami Beach's glitz and glamour. At the beach two blocks away, guests will find plenty of water sports, such as jet skiing and parasailing. The famous 11th Street Diner around the corner from the hotel is open 24 hours. Guests can enjoy free continental breakfasts, a heated outdoor pool, fitness room, self- serve business center and a poolside bar that offers live music on the weekends. The hotel does not have on- site parking, but metered city parking and garage parking with hourly and overnight fees are nearby. Festooned with sea-green and gold fabrics with hints of Art Deco, guest rooms are typically small, which is the norm for this ritzy area, but are renovated and equipped with modern comforts, including safes, cable TVs and coffee makers. The hotel is on Washington Avenue right in South Beach, which is filled with clubs and restaurants and is lively around the clock. Guests are primarily vacationers, but college students descend on the place during spring break and festivals.
