Disney's Port Orleans Resort French Quarter in Lake Buena Vista (Fla.) is just one mile from Epcot and within five miles of Magic Kingdom and MGM Studios. Disney's take on New Orleans is as magical and whimsical as the Big Easy itself, with the added benefit of being family-friendly. Guests arrive into a New Orleans style train depot, and are ushered into a two-story inner courtyard with the reception desk. Buildings are bordered by gardens and cobblestone streets, and some offer views of the resort pool or the Sassagoula River. Mardi Gras prevails at the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, where large replicas of floats are suspended from warehouse-like ceilings. Outdoor fun includes the Doubloon Lagoon, a water playground with alligator fountains and a colorful, Mardi Gras- inspired slide in the shape of a dragon. The resort also features a separate children's pool, playground, game arcade, bike rentals and watercraft rentals.
Guests can also visit the Port Orleans Resort, in a Louisiana-riverboat-themed hotel only Mark Twain or Disney could have imagined. Complimentary ferryboats on the Sassagoula River transport guests to the Downtown Disney® Area. The Scat Cat's jazz-themed lounge offers guests a retreat from the bright and busy theme parks, and a poolside bar where guests can enjoy snacks in the warm Florida sun.
Mardi Gras-inspired guestrooms feature rich, blue color schemes, French- inspired paintings and antique-style furnishings, creating the warm southern style for which New Orleans is famous. All rooms have tables and chairs, coffeemakers, Internet access, multi-line phones, in- room safes, cable television and bathrooms dual vanity areas.
Guests enjoy the charm of New Orleans and the imagination of Disney in a single, magical locale called Disney's Port Orleans Resort French Quarter.
