Locanda Ovidius is a canalside hotel with 18th Century Venetian style interior decor, overlooking the Rialto Bridge and Grand Canal. The 15 guestrooms feature 18th century Venetian-style decor with ornate cream and gold wood furnishings, Murano glass chandeliers, and paintings of the city. All include air conditioning, safes, minibars, hair dryers, and satellite television.
Guests can enjoy a drink on one of the hotel's two balconies, which have views of the Grand Canal and the Rialto. Breakfast is served in a bright, beamed second floor room, with doors opening onto the balcony, and there is a sitting room decorated with Venetian paintings, mirrors and Murano chandeliers. Guests receive a free ticket to visit the glassworks on Murano Island by private motorboat, where the hotel's chandeliers are created. Gondolas can be taken directly from the Riva del Vin below the hotel to visit the city sights. Many of the city's top attractions are within close proximity with St Mark's Square and the Doges Palace both 600 metres away. Venice Marco Polo Airport is 20 kilometres away with a driving time of 30 minutes. |
