The modern Bunratty Castle Hotel is set on a hillside next to the River Shannon, opposite the 15th century Bunratty Castle, and 10 miles from Limerick. It has 80 guestrooms, all of which feature traditional decor in warm cream tones, and include wireless Internet, satellite television, tea and coffee making facilities, safes, telephones, and hair dryers. After browsing for gifts in the famous Blarney Woollen Mills shop, guests can relax over a pint of Guinness and a meal in the pub restaurant. Staff at the 24-hour front desk can advise on local sightseeing opportunities, and guests can leave their valuables in the safe at reception. Wireless Internet access is available for guests who wish to stay in touch with family and friends, and free parking is available on site. Most visitors come to see the castle opposite the hotel, but there is also good shopping at Bunratty Village Mills, 30 metres away, and there are 10 golf courses within a 20 mile radius of the hotel. Shannon International Airport is eight kilometres from the hotel, a drive of around 10 minutes.
