The Colosseo Erlebnishotel is a Roman themed hotel set around a large piazza which looks onto replica Coliseum ruins, on the site of Europa-Park in Germany. The 372 guestrooms feature Roman themed decor with wall paintings and antique style furnishings and floors; all have wireless Internet access, cable television and direct- dial phones. Family rooms feature novelty bunk beds for children in styles such as a horse and cart or giant wooden wheel. The hotel offers two dining options: Medici, a buffet restaurant serving Italian and international dishes in a Roman themed setting, and Antica Roma which offers an a la carte menu. There is also a bar, Mille Miglia, located on the fifth floor serving cocktails and drinks with panoramic views across the complex. After a fun-packed day in Europa-Park, guests can cool off with a dip in the outdoor pool in front of the replica Coliseum ruins. In keeping with the Roman theme, there is also a thermal bath, set amid pillars and fresco wall paintings, and a sauna decorated in similar style. The courtyard piazza has pavement cafés, bars and restaurants where guests can have a drink and admire the replica Coliseum. Free parking is available on site. Europa-Park features a number of areas themed to represent Europe and has one hundred or so attractions and rides which portray the different countries' architecture and flora. Guests enjoy priority entrance to Europa-Park, and the hotel runs a children's entertainment program after the park has closed for the day. Those who wish to explore further afield will find the famous Black Forest seven kilometres from the hotel, and Triberg, a small city 40 kilometres away in the centre of the forest, which boasts the tallest waterfall in Germany and the world's biggest cuckoo clock. Strasbourg is 40 kilometres away in France. Basel Airport is 80 kilometres from the hotel.
