This resort is named Kupu Kupu Barong, because of the many beautiful butterflies seen fluttering from one plan to another around the resort. "Kupu Kupu" means butterfly and "Barong" means giant, hence the name "Giant Butterfly", or in Indonesian Kupu Kupu Barong. The resort is perched above the Ayung River, which is not only the largest, but also the longest river in Bali, almost cutting the island in two. Set admist 3 hectares of beautiful tropical gardens overlooking the spectacular Ayung River valley, with a backdrop of glorious volcanic mountains, Kupu Kupu Barong is an idyllic retreat for the discerning traveler. The resort is composed of 19 individual bungalows, all equipped with air-conditioning, ceiling fan, balcony, refrigerator, bathtub and shower. The onsite restaurant offers spectacular room and offers room service from early in the morning to late in the evening.
